Andean Music

Andean music was born before the Incan Empire. If you are not from Latin America, Andean music represents little more than flutes and bamboo pipes used by men and women wearing ponchos. But the instruments used in true Andean music are as interesting as they are beautiful. The traditionalists still use nut powered shakers, conch shell trumpets, drums, ocarinas and various wind instruments. The rhythms are often vivacious, as Andean music represents an energetic form of entertainment. However, each person will play the music differently, depending on their place of origin in the Andes and other such factors.
