Shaun Fisher

Shaun Fisher started performing at age nine and entered a talent contest at the local community center. A second place finished netted him a trip to New York City, where he performed at the fabled Apollo Theatre—and lost to a group later to be known as The New Edition.

After attending Rollins College and the Berklee College of Music, Fisher began to write, perform and produce other artists. His resume and work history are impressive; Fisher has arranged and produced for an array of big motion picture projects, including Bring It On, Miss Congeniality and Anywhere U.S.A.

His reputation is spreading rapidly: “"Shaun Fisher is an amazing talent, brilliant,” says Thomas McClary of The Commodores.

He recently released Body & Soul (Goin’ Native Records), which is described as an eclectic collection of trendy worldbeat music featuring genres ranging from jazz to R&B with Caribbean, Latin and African influences.

Fisher draws from an eclectic mix of musical influences from world music to classical. “I am not biased, although I can’t say I am a huge fan of rap lyrics,” he says. “I wish the lyrical content would be of more integrity and respect to the young minds of the world.”

There is no question that he trusts his audience. Fisher says that his music comes from within, and that it is a mirror image of his feelings. He puts his soul into his performances, saying that he wants his audience to “feel like they’re walking on air” when they leave the venue.

“Music is my ministry. It is the very thing that makes me whole,” he says. “Music gives me the opportunity to celebrate the creation of every living thing on this planet we call Earth (home).  One thing is certain: this versatile artist will have more people feeling lifted up by his music before very long.
